Looking for something to do this summer? - Take a trip to the seaside ….Take a trip to the seaside

The British are an island race; the sea is in our blood so it’s no surprise that we love nothing more than a weekend by the coast; and although the English countryside is beautiful, what can be more perfect than pulling up a deck chair, enjoying the wide sea views, the crash of wave and the call of the gulls.

The seaside is still very much a place to unwind and relax, but now you can do much more and indulge your inner Attenborough by visiting some great seaside nature reserves.

So we have
compiled a list of a few of our favourite coastal towns and some great places to visit whilst you’re there!

Isles of Scilly

A world apart from everyday life not far off the Cornish Coast http://bit.ly/1zmtJoq

Although many of us have visited Cornwall, few of us have made the surprisingly short trip to the outstandingly beautiful Isles of Scilly.

5 the Isles of Scilly have been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and because of the islands’ isolation there are few mammals and no snakes, making it home to some great birds, unique animals and an incredible mixture of native and exotic plants, making it a truly fascinating place to visit.

Although most of the islands’ beauty is best seen by simply enjoying walks along the beach, a great place to visit is the sub-tropical Tresco Abbey Gardens, the diversity of plant life is extraordinary.

Lake District

Cumbria’s valleys and fells are home to idyllic villages, high moorlands and picturesque lakes, which of  course the area is famous for; but there is much more for visitors to see, such as the wonderful Cumbrian coast, with wonderful old towns and historic ports; places steeping with cultural and historic attractions.
